Social tokens are really just a bet on future popularity. Too many platforms try and tie their value to exclusivity when in reality people just want to say they were early and make money if they are right. Less focus on utility, more visibility into metrics that truly show social growth across all platforms.

kinda ironic with the name 'Friend' but in actual people are betting and trading on your name/social status growth, not accelerating the friendship trust

I would argue most tokens are really just a bet on future popularity/ adoption

double edged sword. The exclusivity is the thing* creating the environment for the social token to exist in the first place. And people “being early” is a synonym for exclusivity.. ie kinda the same thing. I agree that metrics are the lever that needs to be pulled i.e. utility. (thinking out loud)

mainstream media can take credit for eroding the associative nature of popularity and credibility sofi enables the store of value in an early insight

I am getting the feeling the last two paragraphs were supposed to tie into each other, but I'm not seeing it. What gets me confused is that to me the value of a platform should primarily lie in it's utility and metrics are a secondary form of proof.
