yup, warps should have been an erc20 from the beginning imo, imagine where it would be now if it was trading freely

Not sure I agree. Tokens, especially early on, attract the type people who only care about making money rather than long term participation. I have been a big fan of the vibe of Farcaster being mostly builders and people who want to help grow the ecosystem.

But just look at how many new users that speculation has brought in! 

I think they could have been smart about supply and tokenomics to prevent a PnD, and instead create a sustainable model that rewards real users and builders

Don't you think they'll drop a token someday anyway?

The platform should be as agnostic as possible in regards to what "quality" usage amounts to imo. By being too proscriptive it could stifle emerging use-cases that may *seem* bad in the beginning

if you're correct about quality usage there will never be a right time for a token, 'cos those incentives will always exist

The Warpcast team doesn’t care about active users, they care about quality active users. Tokens incentive usage but not necessarily quality usage which is arguably the most important thing an app/protocol needs because it’s sustainable. I’m sure Farcaster will have a token someday when the time is right.
