I act like I'm fine but deep down, I want to build an app that can collect fees. 

As someone that likes to code way more than all this degen-ing and trading shit, the dream is to build an app that can collect that sweet 0.5% fees or even 0.1% without needing to do any VC-ing or working with investors. Just solo or small team

Of course, it's going to be a lot of work and thinking to even make the app people care to use. Then finding a way to monetize is another big problem on it's own. Could take a long time, if ever, to start earning something. 
  
If you're already working on something like that (i.e small team, little or no raises, PMF found, raking little fees here and there, earning more than enough to keep building the app). Congratulations, you're already living my dream
