my next /firstdraft is on the potential and power of @hypersub i didn't consult @nonlinear.eth about this whatsoever so TBD on if my vision of the future aligns with @fabric's, guess we'll find out :) degen tips to replies w/ feedback that elevates / edits this paragraph.xyz/@ted/hypersub-as-the-crypto-substack

hypersub is closer to patreon than substack imo but bc it’s a protocol not a platform, creators get more sovereignty and control over their data than they ever could on substack - and that’s imo the #1 value prop. i.e. there’s technically less a company like fabric can do to stop someone from using their protocol than substack could do on their platform. this enables freedom of speech and experimentation whereas patreon/substack creators could be disenfranchised for posting contrarian content. and ofc inheriting infinitely composable social and financial networks of ethereum identities makes it way more connected than a patreon is - there’s no discovery of new creators or interconnectedness on patreon that actually comes baked into ethereum/hypersub and makes the ux way richer for hypersub users (potentially in the future).

spot on. patreon may connect creators with their followers, but it is certainly not considered a social network the way that substack is becoming one. the "infinite composable social and financial networks" that hypersub enables is what excites me most, more so than patreon or substack ever will.
