Airline travel benefits, ranked: - Airline status (lounges, priority boarding, free bag check, better seats etc) - Amex Platinum (Centurion lounge) - CLEAR + TSA Precheck (faster security) - NEXUS/Global Entry (expedited customs) - Priority pass (mediocre lounge when Centurion/airline lounges not available) Began checking a few of these off in the past couple years and my flying experience has improved drastically

I’ve found that when you travel a lot, these help even more when you are traveling with a family extending to hotel, definitely recommend staying with the same hotel chain if possible. i’m a marriott lifetime platinum elite and it’s saved me several times….

Having airline status is the best - next best thing is getting a status pass from a friend! @d0wnlore.eth was so kind to give my cousin and his wife a status pass when they visited Japan for the first time - made the experience 10x better. I think the best part of airline status is when you have equivalent status on partner airlines - makes things a lot smoother if you're traveling away from your usual route.

I have Amex Platinum but aren't there restrictions on Centurion Lounge access? And mediocre lounge access is better than none at all...
