I've always loved how Discord handles threads vs Slack. Discord threads are organized well in the sidebar and can be joined/left at will. Slack threads don't show up in the sidebar and are primarily visible in the "Threads" section, where there's pretty much no organization

Slack's approach always felt like a half baked implementation at best. For those that use Slack, I usually suggest they take advantage of Notion's direct integration & craft a handoff pipeline where the conversation evolves in a more structured environment. The Slack thread mainly becomes a log of any updates.
