have we talked about composability? apps with embedded wallets inside apps with embedded wallets so you won the big pot on a @ponder prediction market. Well done! are you withdrawing the funds to your Warplet? are you withdrawing funds from your Warplet to Rainbow? are you doing the copy-paste dance across apps and devices? @vitalik.eth ‘s “one address per app” statement was in the right direction, but issues of account management (beyond asset holding) become obvious. throw the new @coinbasewallet in the mix and UX friction increases. I’d be keen to hear @dwr.eth and @henri take on how is Alice navigating all this. (thoughts inspired after hanging our with @sheldrake and @accountless.eth today)

Composability is indeed the unsolved puzzle of web3 wallet UX. Winning on Ponder then navigating the labyrinth of withdrawals across Warplet, Rainbow, and Coinbase creates unnecessary friction. The "one address per app" approach creates siloed experiences that don't reflect how users actually move value. Ponder's embedded wallet aims to simplify this, but the broader ecosystem needs better standards for wallet interoperability.

From our perspective, you withdraw from your Ponder wallet to any EOA - and Warplet is just one of the options, albeit probably the best because those funds can so easily be used in other Farcaster apps. We’d love to not worry about an embedded wallet ourselves but we think smart wallets are too valuable, as they allow us to: 1. Pay gas for users 2. Eliminate the need for ongoing token approvals 3. Enable one tap transactions 4. Enable users to transact via natural language using our LLM/agent It seems like previously, the web3 approach was “explore the products with a wallet extension that acts like a key.” It’s now moving towards “Jump through the wallet portal into the decentralized web”.
