Apple Intelligence has exactly what I’d hoped for on privacy.

Run a local model unless it’s necessary to outsource; send only required data to cloud services; still integrate context seamlessly between apps.

I’m beyond glad they didn’t rush into a wrong decision in conjunction with Open AI

I’m guessing they’re running a similar playbook as web search. Outsource a feature to several competing services, but strike a deal to give the well-known market leader the privilege of being the default or most prominent setting (Google Search and OpenAI’s ChatGPT respectively).
