Let's begin in early 2014, just months after the launch of Doge, and Coinye West was announced.

3/ The hype took over the early crypto communities and anticipation was huge.

However, Kanye and his lawyers got involved and started to go after the founders.

Given the centralized nature of the chain they were launching, they were easy targets at the time.

4/ In the end, Kanye and his lawyers won and forced the chain to essentially go defunct.

The tech and national media covered the story with publications from nbc, the verge, coindesk, wired and many more.

5/ Coinye West was almost the 2nd memecoin in existence, just behind Doge. If it wasn't shut down by lawyers, it'd likely be a multi-billion dollar coin today.

6/ $COINYE on Base is a revival of this OG memecoin. We believe in unstoppable networks and there is now no removing COINYE from Base (Ethereum), lawyers or not.
