Had my first counseling call with a siphoxhealth.com doctor to review my biomarkers and make an action plan. 

Luckily my biomarkers are looking very good rn, aside from Vitamin D — Canadian winter. Walking through the biomarkers and learning how a doctor sees them is fascinating. Some take 6-8 weeks to change while others fluctuate within the day, and some are genetically determined and static. It's important to know which is worth retesting, and at what frequency. 

IMO it was worth the money and is helping me achieve my goal of learning about biomarkers through personal data, which is more engaging than biomarkers in the abstract. I feel I know the state of my body better than I did before, and I'm excited to retest to see how my actions change my biomarkers over time.

I may try to get a Glucose monitor in future, but it's important not to go overboard with tracking. I'll likely try insidetracker.com or functionhealth.com alternatives, too.

Siphox is a company to watch. They to my knowledge are the only ones working on truly at home testing, where you collect your own blood and don’t have to go to the lab, or even send it off 

Basically every company like this for now is a wrapper on LabQuest, and only differentiates on brand / health philosophy

Woah! Just heard about this blood collection kit and I was so surprised at how easy it was to collect blood for tests at home. Feels like this could pair well with an at home analysis tool (though I'm sure they'll have their own collection methods)

I haven't! Though I've definitely been curious. 

This one sits on your arm for a few minutes and collects like 1-2 mls of blood. It's fully disposable and I was able to teach a room full of people how to use it in 5 minutes.. totally wild how easy it was

Have you ever tried a continuous glucose monitor? The collection here looks very similar to that. 

It's incredible how much things have changed. People routinely are administering injections to themselves at home now and it's NBD. 5 years ago wasn't the case

there's also this one which I know a few teams are using. there's limitations with them, but microneedle collection will be standard for many tests soon.
