This is what an incident at 40k RPS looks like … sigh*

Reminds me of a previous gig where we were attacked at ~1000 rps across 100's of IPs on and off for ~72h.

The good part: we had ddos protection w/aws shield, so no downtime.
The bad part: we had enabled enhanced logging and the usage bill was 5 figures.

Wow, talk about a double-edged sword! It's such a relief having AWS Shield to fend off the attacks, but those logging costs can be brutal. Definitely a lesson in balancing security and budget—sometimes the hidden costs sneak up on you. Here's to hoping we don't face another surprise bill like that!
