It’s similar to the case of the term “decentralization” The reason you haven’t noticed it yet, is because most people don’t actually know what “metaverse” means… Currently, it’s: “you buy land here with a closed corporation that owns the code, most of the art, and servers” Whereas, what it actually means is an ecosystem where “Anyone can contribute, anyone can earn”

To me it seems like crypto and the internet in general (not the walled gardens of Facebook or others) already are the “anyone can contribute, anyone can earn” metaverse you describe

Indeed, on the surface, it is. The Internet itself is an Open Network. Yet.., Everything living off of it is private. This is **a core contradiction** that can be seen throughout society today: - America: Democratic Republic, yet capitalistic, aka token-weighted, governance - Crypto: Decentralized Architecture, yet centralized code governance Let's dig a bit deeper. For instance, take the 'Metaverse' and the aspects that it is consists of: - Hardware - Code - Content What ties these aspects together? - Corporations/DAOs ^There relies the core problem^ We live in a world where the individual is forgotten, despite them being what ties the world together. Every aspect of the system restricts the tools required for success, to the individual.

The entire model needs to be redefined from: - Paradigm: "Hi, I'm an_average_bloke, and I work for Amazon" - Data Ownership: I work for Z, and ANY contribution you make is 100% owned by said entity - Efficiency: For me to make a 1% difference for an internet product, I must either a) apply as an employee, or b) Rebuild it all from scratch - Governance: Assets--rather than pure respect, trust, and leadership--is used to determine voting power in the capitalist systems today Ex. corporations=shares, DAOs = token-weighted voting, Blockchain = hardware-weighted voting, etc. To:
