Article that criticizes /network-states . which states that balaji’s vision are of: - microstates / privatopias With problematic framing, that these utopias will be built by select few who successfully extract and exit mainstream, leaving all others to scramble. On the other end is an implied: - unified state with localized subcommunities With the argument that: ”the power of networks is found in embracing and organizing the complexity of our shared lives” For which, I agree. we are all forced to share the same dirt, the same internet protocols, the same value systems. At humanity’s climax, we will all be forced to “run away” from each other, fight each other, or learn how to tolerate and respect each other despite our differences. Which direction will we go?
