Does anyone have any book recommendations for explanations of the foundations of today’s institutions and the harm brought by industrial-era bureaucracy and centralization?

I really enjoy the book The Sovereign Individual because it predicted a LOT of the capabilities we see today. I started reading “Seeing Like A State” by James C. Scott, but I want to read more books that describe some of these foundations as well as where we might be headed.

mate, i’ve started sovereign individual because of you. in chapter 1 only, he has a good vision. only disagreeement i have is seeing a highly competitive driven future. i think we’ll start to see people supporting each other and uniting under one house evntually.
