good design is one of the highest leverage things for a company, and yet i still go to openai to create mediocre graphics and brand assets

i think the challenge is that it's very difficult to articulate visual identity at the early stages, and design requires as much iteration and discovery as product

Identity and design take so much iteration and feedback. I’ve used AI quite a bit for creative briefs and as a collaborator that I can spitball ideas with, and get a different, more generic perspective on something. But ultimately I still end up having to execute whatever concept myself or hire someone to do it.

I usually have something in mind to begin with. I’ll sometimes use AI to generate some different versions or concepts, and sometimes I pass those on to a designer to communicate a general idea, or to get feedback on a concept. But feedback from humans / other eyes! And best in person or over video
