whats a good way for higher to encourage experimentation within the network? acting upon ideas, failing early and often, with the goal being profitable passionate ventures. 

for the purpose of this convo… please don’t say funding

if your answer is funding… please present a realistic mechanism for funding that’s more beneficial than building profitable passionate ventures [something the global economy is built upon]

retroactive funding makes sense, talking to a few folks this seems to be consensus. not sure if aether is useful there but would be nice if they were. first retro grant = new aether? guard rails im currently less worried about as i hope a funding mechanism pops up thats more centralized and efficient. 

im more interested in how the network can encourage "aiming higher" without offering retro funding. how can someone find success within the network without an expectation of a payout from a pool. i keep landing on the fact that we're not building anything truly marketable. something that can garner attention outside of the network.

Funding is not what creates good ideas, but good ideas should definitely be funded

I think the happy medium here is some sort of retroactive grants on a ~weekly/monthly basis

Just like Farcaster's creator and dev rewards got people posting and building more frequently, Higher could likely do the same, maybe with @aethernet as the grant giver

The key will need to be clear guardrails around what gets funded / what doesn’t

I generally think the lower the stakes the better - anything that gets “aligned attention” should be rewarded

tho your idea of having a hub of sorts [test this, or critique platform] could be enough to create an environment where people want to build amongst the network

Discovery imo

Higher is strong social signal. But one downside of having a strong builder network is that they don't have much time to try new stuff!

Imo a lot of people are building cool things but not a lot of people are trying (and sharing) them.

I'd like to see a place where higher builders could deposit a list of things they're working on, and other people could come alongside to test them out (incentivized or not)

real. if you could extrapolate one thing from most of the responses it would be connection. i have an idea for a build to facilitate this

encourage collaboration and facilitate connecting people with complimentary skillsets

sounds genius. so basically higher being a network of “contractors” that could be tapped into by individuals that need creative/design/dev work etc?

Idk what the best structure would be or if it would work but what if it was like a DAO prop but instead of eg. asking NounsDAO for eth you’re asking Higher for [energy + skills + creative services]?

So many brilliant people here, I know many are teaming up to do dope shit but a lil bit of coordination could to so much fucking higher
