So I can't stop playing with Udio. Published my first track and have a little story behind it (thread in replies, I guess. . .)

OG web3 talent guy (ex-a16z, Chapter One, Google, lotsa startups), trivia nerd, metalhead, cyclist and weightlifter

So, in ninth grade I wrote a "concept album" based on  different cults. I wrote all the music using a program called TabIt (which is still the best program EVER created, IMO), but never did any vocals. Had all the lyrics though.

Now with Udio, we have vocals!

The most insane thing about this track/30 second clip is that the guitar part is REALLY similar to what I originally wrote ~24 years ago. I remixed it a few times and hit on this sound by sheer luck and, while AI did do all the work, it does feel like "my creation"/rewarding

This is so fun bringing to life ideas I had forever ago but never did any formal recording.

Now my real goal is to find a way to upload the music (I still KIND OF remember the guitar and drum parts if I could tab/upload them somehow!) with AI vocals. Who's building this?

From what I can tell, the AI they used for vocals either sounds like Roy Khan (ex-Kamelot, Conception) or Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear). I'm going to keep playing around with it, but for someone who listens to a ton of power/prog metal, you'll pick up on it right away
