Not sure when I’m going to stop this series/streak, but getting crazy nostalgic going back and reviewing the best albums of all these years

I wasn’t expecting any year to come close to 2003 in terms of quality, but I totally overlooked 2001!

2001 rivals 2003 in terms of high-quality albums across the board - in folk metal we had Ensiferum’s and Elvenking’s debut, Finntroll and Moonspell’s best albums (IMO), Green Carnation dropping ‘Light of Day, Day of Darkness’ to titans of power metal like Sonata Arctica, Kamelot, and Edguy releasing some of their best work to some of my favorite melodic death metal (Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth)

But the 2001 AotY goes to another absolutely perfect album that I have in my top-10 all-time: Angra - Rebirth
