is "art" more valuable on the Ethereum L1 network vs a L2 like Base/Zora? and what about chains like Tezos? does it matter what chain you mint on? @jessepollak @vitalik.eth

Somewhat related article I wrote a while back: https://www.fxhash.xyz/article/art-permanence-on-ethereum-and-on-tezos I'd definitely pick an L1 such as Tezos over an Eth L2 that is more centralized, maybe run via a multi-sig, and possibly could disappear.

Maybe in the future some Eth L2s are sufficiently decentralized and established that we no longer have to worry about this, but today it's not clear we're at that point.

One other issue, of relevance to museums etc.: They like the governance model of Tezos, without hard forks. The risk that Ethereum could split (like it did in the past) is worrisome to them, as you would end up with multiple copies of the same NFT and then which one is the real one?

I have not seen the Ethereum community give the problem of hardforks much thought in the context of NFTs. People discuss what happens to the native currency (you get a new one, like Ethereum Classic, who cares) and to stable coins (whichever Circle backs is the new USDC), but how to handle duplicated NFTs is unclear.
