Plus taxes. In the US this is taxed as regular income and people should sell enough upon claiming to be sure they will be able to cover their tax bill. This is particularly important for people who got very large claims.

Example: If somebody has a claim worth $10k and they don't sell they're basically assuming they'll pay $2k-$4k out of pocket. That's a lot of money to pay out of pocket.
