One of Vitalik's best posts is about onebag. However, where Vitalik optimizes for cm3, many of us optimize for quality-of-life/cm3. I agree that qualitative discourse matters and I feel the state of it is lacking. I find it better on Farcaster than twitter/mirror, but it’s still much MUCH better sync with a smaller group (ex: weekly /banklessdao community call) Is it even possible to have a global discourse with nuance?

I don't think it's possible anymore tbh. One of the downsides of the industry growing. But as you say, getting into smaller groups etc. is a great way. It feels to me that a lot of people lack the ability to see and acknowledge nuances, which is really bad for topics as complex as we have. 1/x

However that also raises the issue of not falling into the trap to get accustomed to a social bubble, I think. So either a new influx of ideas and people is needed or one (or the group) has to actively go out to seek other ideas and opinions and then discuss them. 2/x

I've been thinking of creating a FC-native group that tries to do that: • discussions/debates • study groups for papers/EIPs etc. • sharing interesting stuff one comes across And perhaps do scheduled spaces/debates on certain topics with others outside the group? 3/x

I would however make it invite-only and probably give those who are in already invites too, something like this perhaps. Don't want it to be open for everyone, as it feels like it would massively reduce the quality. I don't want to gatekeep everyone else, so perhaps some kind of "application" system or smth 4/x
