🟣 The story behind my new piece

In Bali for a month-long art residency - I wanted to dive deep into the local culture with my artistic research - the nature

After speaking with the locals, I discovered they have a ceremony at the Bayan Ancient Tree, and this was the starting point of my journey

I had to go see this ancient tree, and when I got there, I saw this giant 700 old years living being

There is a ceremony and a series of stories about the tree, I learned about how the locals feels the existence of electromagnetic fields that cannot be seen, around the sacred nature

And so I thought: I can show these electromagnetic fields that are not visible in reality - using art!

I started to 3D scan all the nature

I spent days 3D scanning over 40 nature elements over the entire island of Bali to create the final piece

Since my 3D scans are point clouds, I can distort them with noise and displacement features to make them seem like particles and electromagnetic fields - just like in their ritual
