Not sure this is a growth strategy but Aburra was pretty crucial to getting /football off the ground.

It was easier (and frankly more fun) to get strangers to get together and talk about football than to do it via casts in the channel. 

It was Aburra that engendered the sense of familiarity that subsequently translated into conversations on the channel.
