serious question for christians. what if in the end, god didn't come down and die on the cross, and the atheists are right, and all this is just a story? what then?

Then the first Christians suffered in vain and became martyrs for no reason... It must have been a pretty convincing story… I’m no apologist, but there is much content on the internet debating this issue. In the end it is a belief, and belief is a gift, not everyone is given to believe. I hope that helps

mmh, yeah. i find the martyrdom angle pretty convincing too. not totally, but pretty convincing. but i'm saying, yes what if they were wrong? what if they died for a fiction?

Here is another thought I had… Most cults die, they implode after some time, hearsay change the main message. Christianity is still here, after more than 2000 years, still growing, practiced by millions/billions, for some under heavy persecution and pressure. Most Christians believe in the same creeds and confessions the first church believed.
