There's a certain allure of craft where it's not "cool" to want to make money off of it. You would think for example some of the best BD and Sales people from software organizations come from the engineering side, but there's almost zero transition from engineering to communicator/sales/bd. Meanwhile I have seen multiple instances personally of the reverse happening.
