I wish I could show him kick-ups, or other tricks to show off to other kids at recess.

What was your (and everybody's) favorite thing to do with a football when you first started playing?

I think the best thing to do is to get him playing with his peers if you can. Hard for them to see what the fuss is all about if they don't enjoy the game at that age.
