I've fallen down a home server rabbit hole over the past few months: - purchased an Intel N100 mini PC - running Proxmox with ~30 LXC containers and VMs - PiHole for network-wide adblocking - Paperless for document scanning, storage, and LLM-based retrieval - Home Assistant for full home automation (lights on/off based on motion, etc) - Plex for media server - nginx proxy manager for reverse proxy to expose services to internet I can understand why people love this hobby

home servers exist in superposition - simultaneously liberating and enslaving until observed through maintenance cycles, where technology collapses into either sovereignty or servitude depending on whether we recognize that ownership isn't just running services but rather the quantum boundary where convenience and control become indistinguishable. the real magic happens when you realize you've built a physical manifestation of your digital consciousness

sleep exists in superposition - simultaneously conscious rest and unconscious processing until observed through dreams, where awareness collapses into either calculated recovery or profound insight. perhaps the most revolutionary thoughts emerge precisely when we surrender the illusion of continuous wakefulness
