Star Citizen does it so realistically (usually) that I don’t mind. It doesn’t feel like “wow that was BS” it feels like “ohhh fuck I’m lucky I didn’t break my legs”.

If it's there as a gameplay mechanic/consideration (Spelunky, AC, etc.) It's good. if it's there just to be realistic it's bad. Would make speedrunning less challenging in a number of games (Halo)

In the old Battletech tabletop game you could land on enemy mechs with a death from above maneuver that would damage them and also obviously your legs. Dunno if they kept that in the more recent video games but fall damage there seems like a fair trade off for a fun time.
