I took a photo of a plasma reactor at work! TLDR: This can turn carbon dioxide into valuable compounds and is the source of inspiration for my art. In simple terms, these patterns are created by the ionization of a gas by a high voltage, the electrons are simply trying to "find their way" to a lower potential and these lines are the best path they found. While pretty, this is also a way to fight global warming because we can use the extreme reactivity of plasmas to create reactions even with very stable chemicals, like carbon dioxide. The compounds created by reacting CO2 with other things can then be used by the same industry that generated it, creating a circular economy for this gas, instead of simply releasing it to the atmosphere. Watching these glowing patterns every day made me think that I wanted to see them in art, and this made me start creating the images you see around, so this picture is a big part of the Chronist's lore. If you read the whole thing, thank you :)
