i love my friend and cofounder @heavygweit. she puts others before herself, works tirelessly, champions women onchain and off, and this weekend mysteriously braved legacy social media. X is a tiring part on the internet. we have given ourselves an opportunity to reinvent a bit of it — kindness must be the standard.

Did you read the whole thread? The pearl clutching doesn’t account for the response? I just refuse to think it’s that deep. @heavygweit is great. Not a villain. But Conversation was getting ridiculous. Not everyone has the same experience here. Its ok to say that the way it was said without being tone policed repetitively I think “braving” is a little much and thicker skins for the win

it is true everyone has different experiences. Erica shared what she believed in, and so have i. what is the point in all this if we aren’t able to permissionlessly share what we believe and risk the criticism? we must create a space of genuine curiosity and kindness to welcome it.

I agree with you but also please understand that trying to set a tone is a form of censorship that isn’t helpful or kind either. I thought what @mariapaula said was hilarious because I related to it. It was creative criticism, not mean or inaccurate Often passive aggression on WC passes for kindness but there are plenty of people see it more clearly than others. I’m not saying @heavygweit was being passive aggressive just saying that kindnes, curiosity and constructiveness presents differently with different people. Calls and praises for decorum are on a sharp rise around here and we should be asking who this serves and who it alienates.
