Interesting take from Pieter Levels on how learning to code today involves sifting through dozens of VC/corporate-funded devfluencers pushing newbie devs toward certain “open-source” frameworks, with the ultimate goal of having them host their startup on proprietary, closed-source and often overly-expensive infrastructure. “It’s like lobbying.” https://x.com/chfsrh/status/1826314475860840500

and maybe i’m wrong but Levels only builds websites? none of the underlying distributed systems. so he has a right to be frustrated when 90% of the entry level market is “get dev rich quick” and it undermines his business and approach.
