i get asked this a bunch, re: why GCP for the company?

i believe Google has the best data engineering and data science cloud infrastructure teams, and they are likely to win the AI cloud wars because of that. 

put plainly: they simply have way more data to deal with than anyone else.

long term view, who knows!

Also an update.. the AI war is over. Google offers any open source model you want instantly through GCP. Open source models can be swapped with very little downtime. The cost per compute is going to zero and OPEX only comes from shared services.

If an AI product isn't free, the company has already lost.

AI *model war is over. We have a long decade left of research and consumer fitness to AI products. But the opportunity to capitalize on closed source models is effectively over.
