50 isnât the new 30. Mediocrity seems more palatable with cute slogans. Itâs not ok to grow old without a legacy worth mentioning.

what gave you impression that phrase is about mediocrity? imo the point of "30 is the new 20" or "50 is the new 30" is that life doesn't peak when you are younger and only gets better as you get older â and tbh i find that every year does get better, and it is 99% in my own control to make sure of that.

Your body is literally breaking down at a cellular level every year. You may believe that it gets better and thatâs great, but biologically speaking thatâs not the case. These âfeel goodâ slogans are toxic to the old and young alike.

i have a degree in molecular biology and published work on cellular senescence, but appreciate your explanation about body breaking down cellularly :). if this is about molecular biology, then youâre right it isnât getting âbetterâ. if this is about quality of life, then respectfully i think youâre wrong.

This is holistically about life and death. This is about your namesake. This is about legacy.
