yesterday's museum trip taught me about a victorian illusion technique called pepper's ghost, used in the work i saw, carrie mae weems' "leave! leave now!" and i had to ask a docent how it was done (this picture does it no justice) you see a translucent, ghostly moving image in front of a physical background. same technique used in the haunted mansion at disneyland https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FekGPSiOtvw

thanks chris! i had always wondered how the ghosts at disney worked since that was my fav ride there and can't believe it too so long for me to find out π in particular, i like how you can see through the moving image using this method and how you can make ghosts sort of irl since i like ghosts so much
