thought it might be the content type. set to plain, but no difference. Also just using a test image

Seems I needed fallback tags. Would be great if the next version of the docs has the full version of the HTML required, as they currently stand, it's a bit incomplete and suggests you just need to provide the metadata.

It's working for me with backslashes, this works:

Meta tags don't have a backslash at the end. I think I ran into this issue as well.

thanks! should it be just the metadata, or wrapped in an HTML doc?

Had a similar issue - Make sure the image is the right size (1200x630 iirc) and add OG image tags as a backup

i had the same issue, greg helped me

for some reason it wont work without the original opengraph title and image meta tags, try adding those
