My hypothesis is Farcaster is trending towards becoming a “social finance network” more so than a “decentralized social network” Hypothesis is based solely on my feed, which is _mostly_ coin launches, nft stuff, bounties and general token talk these days. All logically follows from having a wallet attached to your social identity, and money being the biggest crypto use case (so far) I suppose this changes once the majority use case for crypto moves beyond money

Two Bsky features that really helped me bootstrap a great feed in first 2-3 days of using the app - Starter packs - Account lists with a big “follow all” button, really helps bootstrap the interest graph - Shared feeds - Kind of like starter packs, except I don’t have to follow accounts - just see the feed of the posts that I can pin to home (similar to channels in a sense, but readers decide who is in the feed) Both are user generated, are first class citizens in the app, and can be discovered / shared easily

One of the projects I'm most excited about right now is Echo: An explorer for open source ecosystems. You can play with it here at ecosystems.gitwallet.co It's an easy way to browse the projects and people in open source ecosystems. For example, here's the Farcaster ecosystem page: https://ecosystems.gitwallet.co/ecosystems/farcaster Would love feedback from folks here! Lots of work to do still but it's starting to look very promising! (I would normally post this in /dev but not sure if that's more / less effective these days tbh)

New channel rules feel a bit strange to me and not sure they work with the ethos of what /opensource was created for. I understand why these changes are happening, but not clear what (or if) to do next for us here. I don’t like the idea of gatekeeping posts. If you are able to post, please share your idea.
