These terms are related but different imo

Web3 = next-gen, decentralized, user-centric web (rather than platform-centric) powered by blockchain tech

Onchain = something built atop/secured by a blockchain

But blockchains aren’t inherently decentralized, so technically something could be “onchain” but not web3

Onchain just has a ring to it and it rhymes with online.

Absolutely. Didn’t realize we were just talking about reaching normies, but 100% agree that they don’t know or care about nuanced definitions and that “onchain” is the right term to use from a marketing perspective to reach them.
