Learned today the Joro spider has been making its way to the New York metropolitan region.

Facts:

-They’re MASSIVE. Flattened out leg span is 6-8 in

-VENOMOUS but small fangs so can’t do much damage to humans/pets 

-Younger Joro spiders BALLOON, meaning they parachute through the air by silk from their abdomens
