I don't agree with that at all, people have to be free to decide what they want even if that doesn't unleash their full potential. In my opinion, perhaps a friend could/should present points of view, pros and cons, but never force or convince.

Agree, but not everything is "unlock potential" or "growth". Not every human being is looking for the same. That is why I am not with the "A friend will not allow you to live below your potential", in my opinion "A true friend will support you no matter what your position is."
...If I think its not correct I'll make my points for sure, but at the end of the day I would respect their decision.
