It was surprising how many people said they never even thought being a photographer could become routine. But yeah, it can—just with some differences. When your "routine" means taking photos every day by the ocean, surrounded by beautiful nature, it’s still routine, but a nice one. Sure, people can be awful sometimes, but there’s a huge difference between dealing with difficult clients in a dull office in a boring city and standing in the ocean, not caring that today's clients are a bit crazy. I did this for four years, and if I had the chance, I’d keep doing it. Later, I worked in studios and shot weddings in big cities—and that’s a whole different story. Worse. A different kind of routine, the kind no one likes. Dull, exhausting, soul-crushing. But still better than an office job. No offense to anyone, but for me, working in an office feels like slowly suffocating 🫣
