Apart from using signatures to prove authority and ownership, I also wonder if we could shoot for authenticity with the same stone. Fake photos in news is soon going to be such a huge problem.

Can you help explain a bit more on what the attacking surface would be and how witness would help here?

There are already cameras being built with secure chips in it so that every photo being taken has a digital signature saying that it went through the optic sensors so not digitally faked. Together with ZK (for image processing), Is this good enough to protect us from being surrounded by fake AI images?

Guess I was thinking of zkLogin more of a general way of logging in with any sort of signatures, could be jwt, but in the context of this thread I was actually thinking the passport issuer signatures from the government. I know it's less convenient compared to Passkey, but it has built in sybil resistance.

Posted a summary of what we've previously built with @tlsnotary. It's really a powerful tech that we believe is gradually taking off and showing its value. Towards the trustless and verifiable internet. https://x.com/chcharcharlie/status/1796268960259748080

Found quite a few interesting books on @a16zcrypto bookshelf. Going to take this ZKP ELI5 one back and gift it to a friend's 5 year old son, see if we can make any progress there lol. Personally though I think 5ys old lost the chance as soon as you start calling out "circuits" and "gates" 🀣

Yes, but the entire concept of Verifiable Credential relies on the trust over credential issuer. How do we then eliminate that trust too?

What exactly can we call verifiable compute? Most signatures/attestations introduce trust over the signers or issuers. PoS relies on honest majority assumptions, even ZK needs some trust setup. Is there something that can be truly trustless, or are we just minimizing the trust?

How do people usually manage expectations over farcaster's eventual consistency? What do you do when there's notification about a reaction/reply but when you click in it doesn't show up?

Why not delegate? What else can you use it for as of now?

This in my mind should be the default way to decentralize the `aggregator` role in most AVSes. It provides liveness guarantees and censorship resistance sufficiently enough comparing to being fully decentralized. A little more game theory design should also prevent the aggregator to purposefully reject connections.

Quite a few projects like zkPassport does passport info extraction ad proof, for zkLogin I know Sui has a version implemented, more people are building it.

zkLogin + @zkpassport will be the web3 onboarding endgame. When you zkLogin with social accounts, you prove signed JWT tokens. ePassports also have signature you can prove out of, and with this: 1. You don't rely on giant web2 companies 2. There would be default sybil resistance and potential kyc capabilities

Recently though glad to see more and more people starting to clarify how many applications are just SNARK or Verifiable and has nothing to do with ZK and refusing the buzzword to be miss-used. Question is do ZKasino even have SNARK? πŸ™ƒ

How much security do you really need and how should they really work when building with the affordable security pool /eigenlayer brings? Quite a few eigen projects are building faster finality using cheap security, but then should used security be locked for the dispute period? which then making them no longer cheap?

Well turns out that you can still aggregate, and it still helps, especially if not all messages are distinct. For example if you have N signers, but only on 3 distinct messages, you can still aggregate them in groups and reduce it to 3+1=4 pairings.

Today's learning reading on BLS signature aggregations. https://crypto.stanford.edu/~dabo/pubs/papers/BLSmultisig.html We all know BLS signature aggregation helps reduce the amount of pairings needed when validating signatures from N signers. But what if they are signing on different messages?
