Bitcoin wasn't always digital gold. It became that because the community couldn't coordinate on changes or fund development. This pivot is a bug, not a feature, and it will show over time

Thank you for saying this. I regret that the modern purity test among Bitcoiners is to defend its ossified, hodl-forever, value-hoarding, pet rock status, when this is so far removed from Satoshi’s vision

I’m fine with the Bitcoin project pivoting so hard (I don’t hold any so 🤷‍♂️ ) but at least let’s be honest about it

I don’t think they fully realize the downstream effects of this early ossification (that again emerged because they couldn’t coordinate). A recent example I noticed -> why are leaders now encouraging users to trust big banks for custody?

It’s at least partially because even though there are known ways to upgrade the chain to make self custody easier (like improving multi-sig usability or adding features like account abstraction), they refuse to make changes

This resistance to improvement has ripple effects, pushing users toward centralized solutions

And then they’ll claim that because they couldn’t figure out how to coordinate positive changes any system that has will eventually get corrupted…
