- Developers submit metadata files describing smart contract functions.
- Ledger signs and verifies them to ensure integrity. Wallets fetch this data so users see exactly what they are signing

- Attackers are getting more sophisticated. Malware can modify transactions before signing
- ERC-7730 ensures users see what they are about to sign. Ledger is making this a public good that any wallet can integrate

- Alchemy provides plug-and-play smart wallets. Supports both EIP-7702 (temporary delegation) and ERC-4337 (full smart accounts)

- 7702 converts EOAs into smart accounts, but the original key always retains control
- 4337 fully replaces EOAs with smart accounts, removing the single point of failure. If security is a priority, 4337 is preferred

- No more seed phrases
- Enables gasless transactions and session keys
- More secure recovery options

- Many devs are unfamiliar with the new account models
- Dapps need to update their signing methods, such as supporting EIP-6492 for counterfactual addresses
- ERC-4337 transactions are bundled, so new infra is needed to parse them
