0/ Everyone has to say what’s wrong with Ethereum these days. Here’s my go.

It’s not the protocol.
It’s not other chains.
It’s not the EF.

It’s something deeper. The problem is belief.

think @chaskin.eth is directionally correct that a lack of belief is the big problem with Ethereum

however, I believe that's downstream of a bloated roadmap + scope creep

Ethereum community wanted to "do all the things" and bought into the pitch that an actively developed was better than an ossified chain (dusty old Bitcoin)

this missed that crypto was started because of a fundamental belief that human organizations are bad at complex, strategic planning

in the long run, they always fail (why every fiat currency is destined for 0 eventually)

ETH community thought "this time is different" and figured they would be immune to the problems of complex human organization because they...have unicorn marketing? I mean I genuinely don't know there

and now they have too many things they are trying to do at once, too many organizations involved, too many goals

with Bitcoin you have one goal (number go up) that everyone can focus on

it's easy to believe in

Ethereum doesn't have that any more
