During the Pectra fork test on Sepolia, a random anon decided to complicate Ethereum’s life by sending 0 ETH to the beacon deposit contract, triggering an edge case that produced empty blocks for several hours on Sepolia. Nothing to gain, pure evil. https://x.com/vdwijden/status/1898665884236882428?s=46&t=Mb20rEx6_w-8XN4fwj1XOw

Hmmm I’m not sure if I agree with that, now devs are aware of an edge case with ERC20s they otherwise wouldn’t have ALL known about that. Calling it pure evil on a testnet seems a bit harsh

Right, strong words. Although, not sure if devs learned anything? Wasn’t this a bandaids to bypass the token gated of the beacon chain, only in Sepolia. This wouldn’t have been possible in Mainnet. Feels like just a “waste of time”.
