Freedom might not be the perfect word, but imo it's not just ideological kool-aid either. Even if blockchains didn’t exist, digital ownership would still likely be provided by big tech orgs like Google. So what’s the difference? On Ethereum, ownership comes with equal rights and access for everyone, regardless of where you are, and no central entity controls the network or can collude to corrupt it. Anyone with a cheap computer can access it, and your assets are secure unless you give up your private key If Google provided digital ownership, they'd be able to change the rules, charge different fees for different users, and have follow government orders. If you protested something, they could cut off your access. On Ethereum, you can create any asset freely, and it will exist as long as the network does. The community can fork the software and change the rules if needed, while on Google, users have no control. Google could also decide randomly to shut it down if it’s not profitable @adrienne @zinger
