If you ever had a computer shrine like this in your house growing up you really enjoyed a golden era of entertainment and reasonable doses of information. This was peak internet and computer-usage generally The Marc Andreesen quote about “software eating the world” is really true. Back then, when you stepped away from this hardware setup the software couldn’t really get you. I also find the old BlackBerry devices to have been more aesthetically tasteful and with the right degree of psychological immersion. There should be a retro movement in electronic devices.

I remember feeling like the internet had already matured past it's prime at that point. Of course, it hadn't. But right about the time AOL released normies into the net, IRC and Usenet culture started to die.
