last cycle’s consumer crypto wave was rooted in bringing IRL culture to digital spaces (and vise versa) NFTs communities, scenes like FWB, etc this cycle’s consumer crypto (frames, friendtech, crypto the game) feels primarily digital

using /jihad for musings now thinking we tend to underestimate the power of network effects in crypto eg, frames without farcaster user base are much less exciting but when you have network effects that allow for reach, embedded onchain activity becomes hugely valuable

so far, the primary monetization mechanism for luxury media has been patronage via collecting media onchain collecting is cool, but think there’s actually a lot more to explore here curation, co-creation, intimate communities, co-ownership are all part of the “luxury” experience too

genuine question if twitter was democratically owned and governed, would it *actually* be a better platform? for all the rhetoric around user ownership in web3, very few people have thought critically about how this works in practice
