While a relatively new concept it is widely used. E.g. AngelList adopts this concept, employing Series LPs in Delaware for both their "AngelList-advised" and "Self-Advised" funds and SPVs. At OtoCo we diverge from the typical series setup - The master never takes Membership in any of the Series its users create.
