I think the headline should have been: “People believe disinformation to an alarming degree” (not just Americans, and not just russian disinformation), because it’s not only russian lies that people fall for. Millions believe Israel’s propaganda and lies while they openly commit genocide and war crimes that are live-streamed 24/7.

So the worrisome part for me is that in 2025, with access to so much information, it feels like people are consciously choosing to believe the propaganda and disinformation.
